Content: Article 1
This Standards is enacted pursuant to Paragraph 2 of Article 4 of the Act on Sites for Establishment of Low-level Radioactive Waste Final Disposal Facilities (hereinafter referred to as "this Act").

Article 2
The active fault and geological conditions described in Subparagraph 1 of Paragraph 1 of Article 4 of this Act may affect the safety of disposal facilities if the area belongs to one of the following:
  1. Belt-shaped areas  extending 1 km on each side of the principal trace of an active fault and 3 km beyond both ends of the fault trace.
  2. Areas of post-volcanic activities.
  3. Areas within a radius of 1km of a mud volcano’s eruption point.
  4. Single landslide areas larger than 0.1 square kilometer and cannot be rectified by engineering.

Article 3
The geochemical conditions preventing effective inhibition of the proliferation of radionuclide contamination described in Subparagraph 2 of Paragraph 1 of Article 4 of this Act may affect the safety of disposal facilities if the area belongs to one of the following:
  1. Areas with groundwater's hydrogen ion concentration index (pH value) below four.
  2. Areas with geological medium’s distribution coefficient of cobalt and cesium below 3ml/g.

Article 4
Areas where the hydrologic conditions of surface or groundwater described in Subparagraph 3 of Paragraph 1 of Article 4 of this Act may affect the safety of disposal facilities if the area belongs to one of the following:
  1. Areas where waterways run through, such as rivers, lakes, reservoirs storage areas, drainage facilities, canals, reduced rivers, flood detention pool, and inter-basin water transfer channels.
  2. A reservoir watershed, be it an existing one, one under construction, or one that has been planned and approved for construction.
  3. Groundwater control areas.

Article 5
The scope and identification criteria for high population density areas described in Subparagraph 4 of Paragraph 1 of Article 4 of this Act shall refer to townships (towns or cities) with a population density exceeding 600 persons per square kilometer.

Article 6
The scope and identification criteria for areas where development is prohibited by law described in Subparagraph 5 of Paragraph 1 of Article 4 of this Act are determined in accordance with the provisions of other laws.

Artcle 6-1
Candidate site located in the Indigenous peoples' regions without the Indigenous peoples' permission and in compliance with the Article 31 of The Indigenous Peoples Basic Law are the development restriction areas described in the preceding Article of this Standards.

Artcle 7
This Standards shall be put into practice from the date of promulgation.
