Title: Classification, Content, Model, Method and Activation Timing of Alert and Notification System for Nuclear Emergency Ch

Content: Article 1
(Purpose)
Announcing the amendment of the classification, content, model, method and activation timing of alarm signal for nuclear emergency, and shall come into force on the date of the promulgation.

Article 2
(Accordance)
The announcement is stipulated in accordance with Paragraph 1, Article 36 of the Disaster Prevention and Response Act.

Article 3
(Announcement content)
Paragraph 3.1
The alarm signal used in this announcement refers to the warning signal specified for nuclear emergency. The alarm or signal not specified in this announcement is applicable to other relevant announcements.
Paragraph 3.2
The types of alarm signals contain go-off siren and alert lifted siren alarm for nuclear emergency.
Paragraph 3.3
The content and methods of alarm signals are as follows:
1.Content
(1)Go-off siren for nuclear emergency: The frequency of siren signal is between 300 and 800 Hz. It goes off as “rings for one second, stops for one second” and repeated for twenty-five times. Thus, the siren sounds for fifty seconds. Then, forty-second voice broadcast followed. The siren and voice broadcast will play twice and maybe adjusted according to the situation. The content of voice broadcast is shown as appendix.
(2)Alert-lifted siren for nuclear emergency: The frequency of siren signal is the same as Go-off alarm signal. The siren for Alert-lifted is “rings for fifty seconds”. Then, twenty-five-second voice broadcast followed. The siren and voice broadcast will play twice and maybe adjusted according to the situation. The content of voice broadcast is shown as appendix.
2Transmission Pattern: The alarms are released issued by the public Alert and Notification System and mobile vehicle broadcasting that previously established by the licensee.
Paragraph 3.4
The released method of the alarm signals is decided by the National Nuclear Emergency Response Center (NNERC). The licensee would execute the command by NNERC, and notify the media.
Paragraph 3.5
The activation timing of Alert and Notification System is decided by the National Nuclear Emergency Response Center in accordance with the progress of the nuclear accident.
